En el presente trabajo se pretende interesar al lector en el análisis del fenómeno del alcoholismo femenino. Se tratan diversos temas como el contexto en el que se socializan las mujeres, teniendo en cuenta los cambios acaecidos en la familia como institución y el rol de la mujer en la sociedad. Otra cuestión con referencia a ese contexto es la prevalencia del consumo de alcohol en el colectivo de mujeres en España y las nuevas tendencias de dicho consumo. The effect of resistance training programs on lean body mass in postmenopausal and elderly women: a meta-analysis of observational studies

AbstractAging and menopause are associated with morphological and functional changes which may lead to loss of muscle mass and therefore quality of life. Resistance training (RT) is an effective training mode to increase muscle mass. We reviewed the existing literature to identify studies implementing RT protocols and evaluating muscle hypertrophy exclusively in healthy, postmenopausal and elderly women. Objetivo: Evaluar la relación de la ocupación materna durante el embarazo con el bajo peso en los recién nacidos y con los partos pretérmino. Método: La muestra consistió en 1.341.686 nacimientos pretérmino y 1.217.897 con bajo peso, en España (1996-2000), con información válida sobre ocupación materna procedente del Registro Nacional de Nacimientos. La ocupación materna fue la variable principal codificada por grupos de ocupación (CNO-79), y las de resultados fueron el bajo peso (< 2.500 gramos) y los partos pretérmino (< 37 semanas). An unusual case of sudden cardiac death during sexual intercourse

The most common cause of sudden death during sexual intercourse in adults is heart disease, and it is usually the male, whereas the death of the woman is unusual. Generally, in these cases, death occurs as a result of cardiovascular disease. The authors report an unusual case of the sudden death of a young woman during sexual intercourse. The post-mortem investigations (autopsy, cardiac nuclear magnetic resonance and cardiac histology) demonstrated a previously undiagnosed arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. The article concentrates mainly on the role model of a courageous woman, and to emphasize the characteristic meaning of fight, both the spiritual as well as armed, which is - according to the author of the text — a strong trend of interpreting national history and a characteristic element for edu- cation. It has led to the formation of a positive image of a woman-Christian heroine commemorated in next centuries.
Lower secondary school pupils’ written descriptions of their experiences with bullying and the tendency to seek help

The purpose of this study was to examine lower secondary school students’ (n = 223) descriptions of bullying and their experiences with the phenomenon. Students at three schools in Norway completed a survey containing open-ended questions. We employed a mixed-methods analytical approach in which responses were coded thematically and then quantified. Findings indicate that students viewed bullying in a manner consistent with prevalent definitions in the literature. However, they were often unsure whether social conflicts they had experienced would be considered bullying.
